If you’ve ever left a car meet thinking “that was a good crowd”… you’ll get what TorqTraction is about
TorqTraction began with a simple realisation: the best connections rarely start with a pitch - they start with a shared spark. The Acceleration Lunch was the moment it clicked for me.
Cars brought everyone together instantly… different walks of life, different businesses, different machines - all in one place, talking like they’d known each other for years.
That atmosphere stayed with me, because it’s rare. TorqTraction exists to create more of those moments - not instead of what already works, but alongside it - where petrolheads can meet, talk properly, and build relationships that actually go somewhere.
The Team Behind TorqTraction
TorqTraction is powered by three people who all have full‑time roles outside of it — and that’s exactly how we like it.
Chris
Has been running IT Desk since 2006 and brings the relationships, experience, and big‑picture thinking that helped spark TorqTraction in the first place. He’s the one who sees how people connect best when there’s genuine common ground - and cars have always been his thing.
Sammi
Has arguably the hardest job of all: keeping both Chris and Ben focused, sensible(ish), and on track. She makes sure TorqTraction stays profitable, grounded, and moving in the right direction… otherwise there’s a real risk we’d be off buying more cars or planning even crazier ideas.
Ben
Works closely with Chris on new ideas, unusual events, and the kind of shows that don’t always sit on the obvious path. He’s got a unique eye for cars too - usually summed up as “the stuff you’d love to try, but maybe wouldn’t own” - which keeps TorqTraction interesting and just a bit unpredictable
Together, we bring different perspectives to the same thing: creating memorable experiences, genuine connections, and a space where people just get it.
Start the Conversation
What is with the Van?
The TorqTraction van is our rolling introduction. It exists to spark curiosity, start conversations, and bring people together before anyone even thinks about “networking”. Whether it’s turning up to events, hosting chats, or just being unapologetically itself, the van and TorqTraction go hand in hand - creating moments people remember, talk about, and share. Disco ball included.
